AN ORDINANCE TO REZONE TRACTS OF LAND IN SECTION 10,
TOWNSHIP 6 NORTH, RANGE 8 EAST, ALONG AIRPORT ROAD
BETWEEN HIGHWAY 70 AND INTERESTATE 40, DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, application was made to the City Planning
Commission to rezone the hereinafter described property and
after notice having been published for the time and in the
manner as provided by Ordinance No. 1258 the matter was heard
by the City Planning Commission and the Planning Commission
recommended that, subject to certain modifications, said
application be granted; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
SECTION I: That the following described property, to wit:
Tract 1: That part of the N 1/2 of Section 10,
Township 6 North, Range 8 East, more particularly
described as follows: Beginning at the northeast
corner of said Section 10, said point being a point
on the existing city limits, thence south 00 degrees
22 minutes 51 seconds west along the east line of
Section 10 a distance of 839.83 feet, thence north 89
degrees 48 minutes 29 seconds west a distance of
1003.79 feet, thence south 00 degrees 11 minutes 31
seconds west a distance of 500.0 feet, thence north
89 degrees 48 minutes 29 seconds west a distance of
300.0 feet to a point on the centerline of Airport
Road, thence north 00 degrees 11 minutes 31 seconds
east 162.06 feet; thence south 89 degrees 48 minutes
29 seconds east a distance of 51.51 feet, thence
north 04 degrees 42 minutes 11 seconds east a
distance of 854.90 feet, thence north 67 degrees 43

of beginning, containing 23.20 acres, more or less,
and being in the 1100-1200 blocks on the east side of
North Airport Road and north of the West Memphis

800 block on the west side of North Airport Road.

SECTION II: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION III: EMERGENCY CLAUSE: It is found and
determined by the City Council that this property is in the
process of development and this ordinance is necessary for the
orderly development and utilization thereof in accordance with
the comprehensive plan of the City of West Memphis for the
City's orderly growth and expansion and to enable the owners
of the property to obtain water, sewer services and fire and
police protection by the City, and the passage of this
ordinance is in the interest of the public health, peace,
safety and welfare of the City of West Memphis and the
inhabitants thereof. Therefore, an emergency is hereby
declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect and be
in force immediately on its passage and approval.
