ORDINANCE NO. 1356
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ARTICLE III, SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE
1258, AS AMENDED, TO ALLOW BUS STATIONS IN C-1 DISTRICTS BY
SPECIAL USE PERMIT, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, after public hearing upon due notice and
publication, pursuant to Article IX Sections 5, 6 and 7 of the
zoning regulations adopted by Ordinance 1258, as amended, the
Planning Commission has approved and recommended for adoption
the proposed amendment to the zoning regulations adopted by
Ordinance 1258, as amended, to allow bus stations in C-1
Districts by Special Use Permits;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARHANSAS:
SECTION 1. Article III, Section 2(B) of the zoning
regulations adopted by Ordinance 1258, as amended, is hereby
amended to add the following designation to allow bus stations
in C-1 Districts by Special Use Permits:

"' :SECTION 2. Eserrtency Clause. It having been found and
determined by the City Council of the City of West Memphis,
Arkansas, that there is an urgent need by the City of West
Memphis to proceed with amending the zoning regulations to allow
bus stations in C-1 Districts by Special Use Permits, an
emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this Ordinance being
necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health,
safety and welfare of the Citizens of West Memphis, Arkansas,
shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its
passage and approval.
SECTION 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
