These traps collected nights flying mosquito that are attracted to light, for the total of 91 for the month of May. Larval Control Activity Permanent water, flood water, artificial containers, and drainage system sites are inspected for larval mosquito breeding on a regular basis. In total, over inspections found the presence of mosquito larvae. As a result of these inspections 1.5 gals of Permanone 10EC and 123 lbs. of Aqua bac 200G were applied to these mosquito breeding sites. Additionally, VDCI is continuing to eliminate breeding habitat for artificial container mosquitoes by targeting bird baths, buckets, tires etc. Adult Mosquito Control Activity In response to community events and mosquito surveillance data, VDCI has responded to 2 service request in the month of May. Total of 38 altosid tablets was used to treat the swimming pool and outstanding water. Each service request was address and treated with adulticide and/or larvicide as necessary. 2 Mosquito Surveillance and Control Report Summary During the month VDCI has continued to provide exceptional control of larval and adult mosquito populations. VDCI will remain diligent in our surveillance and control activities to prevent a significant increase in the mosquito population. However, if VDCI detects a significant rise in the mosquito population we will increase larval and adult control.
