AN ORDINANCE TO RE-ZONE LOTS 4&, 47 & 48, BLOCK 134 OF
THE KENDAL SUBDIVISION TO THE CITY OF WEST MEt~';iIS•,
CRITTENDEN COUNTY, ARKANSAS, (BEING LOCATED AT 1601-
1605 EAST BROADWAY; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, an application was made to the City Planning Commission
to rezone the hereinafter described property from C-2 - Open Display
Commercial District, to C-1, General Commercial District, and after
Notice having been published for the time and in the manner provided
by Ordinance No. 1258, the matter was heard by the City Planning
Commission, and the Planning Commission recommended that the said
property be rezoned C-1, General Commercial District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
SECTION I: That the following described property, to-wit:
Lots 46, 47 and 48, Block 134, Kendal Subdivision to
the City of West Memphis, Crittenden County, Arkansas,
(being known as 1601 - 1605 East Broadway, West Memphis,
Arkansas,
be, and the same hereby is rezoned from C-2, Open Display Commercial
District to C-1, General Commercial District.
SECTION II: That all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION III: It having been found and determined by the
City Council of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, that there is
an im~ediate necessity for the passage of this Ordinance for the
further development of the property hereinabove described; that
the passage thereof is necessary to promote the growth and expansion
of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, and is in the interest of
the public health, peace, safety and welfare of the City of West
Memphis and the inhabitants thereof. Therefore, an emergency is
hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance shall take effect and
be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage and approval.
