ORDINANCE NO. 1269
AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE ALDERMEN AND MEMBERS
OF THE CITY COUNCIL TO PURCHASE SUPPLIES,
EQUIPMENT AND SERVICES FROM RAZORBACK CONCRETE CO.
WHEREAS, State Statute 19-909 states that in order for
Aldermen or Members of the City Council to conduct business
with the City, that it is necessary that an Ordinance be
passed by the Governing Body, specifically, permitting
Aldermen or Members of the City Council to conduct business
with the City and prescribing the extent of such authority;
THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That authoriza~ion be given for the City
of West Memphis, Arkansas, to be furnished supplies, equipment
or services by the RAZORBACK COs~ICRETE CO., West Memphis,
Arkansas.
-~ SECTION 2. It being found and determined by the City
Council of the City of West Mem~~his, Arkansas, that there is
a need to buy concrete locally from the Razorback Concrete
Company, and it is necessary for the City Council to authorize
such purchases, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to
exist, and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation
of the public peace, health, safety and welfare of the citizens
of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and approval.
